Greetings! My name is Manuel Eguren Moreno (Manu EM) and I currently specialize in (1) Cinematography and (2) UX Design and Engineering. Presently, I am pursuing a master's degree in film at EFTI (Madrid) while working part-time at a small marketing agency. Over time, I've cultivated a hybrid profile that enables me to approach projects with a critical and interdisciplinary perspective.

(1) My passion for audiovisuals traces back to my younger days when the first GoPros hit the market, and I was a kid eager to capture skateboarding antics. However, it was in university where I fell in love with photography and the art of evoking emotions through images. My obsession naturally led me to the world of cinema, and following my curiosity, I ended up in the master's program. As we say at EFTI: a year in, and we've practically worn out our asses from filming; another year still lies ahead. What does this mean? It means I bring with me a wealth of technical expertise and invaluable team-building experience. Serving as a director of photography, I've learned to consistently collaborate with diverse individuals, forming and explaining artistic and narrative ideas down to the smallest detail before executing them flawlessly. Having had the fortune to be part of teams exceeding 35 people, I've mastered the art of crafting and communicating intricate creative concepts.

(2) My journey as a UX designer unfolded a bit later when fellow international relations graduates and I came together to launch a digital publication on Asia-Pacific geopolitics. I dove headfirst into everything. Without noticing, I was shaping a brand, managing my first website, designing campaigns and social media content, creating illustrations and graphics for articles... In a matter of months, our humble blog attracted 2000 monthly visits. A newfound passion had already taken root in me. Soon, I found myself engaging in small freelance projects, and positive connections led me to a role as a designer and developer at an agency. Here, with substantial creative freedom, I honed my design skills, learned the rhythms and challenges of the creative-business world, embraced a more marketing-oriented perspective (though still critical), and added numerous tools to my skill set.

If I were to chart my next steps today, they would undoubtedly lead me towards creative direction in the tech world. I revel in the novelty of each project, coordinating teams, bringing ideas and emotions to life visually, and ensuring end-user satisfaction. I am driven by a thirst for connection and fostering reflection, and I aspire to venture into teaching someday.
